What's your favourite religion?
|
With all the ISIS/Jews talk it's slightly topical.
I like Buddhism. Bit of a cliche I know. don't really know fuck all about it tbf but they seem a happy bunch.
A lot of Born Again Christians seem really happy as well. Never met one who I thought was a cunt.
Scientology gets a shout for the way they basically admit they're a cult out for money and no one does anything, plus they control a lot of the media (like the Jews).
You lot?

Hare Krishna.
You never see them bowling around city centres banging tambourines and that anymore.
They were alright.
They used to cheer me up.

There are lots of good in all of them. Some have more terrible things in their sacred texts than others. Some have moved beyond that better than others.
If I had to pick, I'd probably go for Buddhism, even with all its faults.

Juju or Obeah. I went to an Obeah man once and he put a curse on Sheffield United and look what has happened to them. so positive proof that it works.

Buddhism has an interesting philosophy about letting go of the things that people usually worry about and enjoying the moment. Taoism about 'regular life' being fake and artificial, and having to spend time in nature to return to your 'natural self'. Interesting ideas even if you don't agree with them.

Buddhism by a mile. Perhaps coincidentally it doesn't have a God to grovel to. Buddha's view on an afterlife was that you shouldn't waste time in this life worrying about something you couldn't conceivably know, you should concentrate on what you do in this life.
Removing the promise of an afterlife negates the major incentive/threat that mainstream religions use to control people to do whatever hideous shit they dream up, epitomized by the 72 virgins fairy story the Islam spooks use. Possibly this explains the generally peaceable, non proselytising nature of Buddhists.
